Get 50% off on transport: RTA Unveils Nol Student Package
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has just launched the new Nol Student Package at GITEX Global 2024, created in partnership with the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) Association. This package is specially designed to give students in Dubai and across the UAE great benefits. It is like the updated version of a normal student card(known as a Blue or Personalized card) with some additional benefits.
Big Discounts for Students
The Nol Student Package offers a 50% discount on all RTA public transport services, including the metro, tram, buses, and marine transport. This makes traveling much cheaper for students going to school or university.
But that’s not all. Students also get up to 70% off on local and international brands, both in the UAE and abroad. The card can be used for more than just travel—it’s also great for saving money while shopping.
Eligibility Criteria
The upgraded Nol Student Card is available to all students enrolled in schools or universities across the UAE, between the ages of 6 and 23.
Required Documents
To apply for the card through the Nol Pay app, make sure you have the following:
- An enrolment letter or certificate from your school or university.
- A recent photo with a white background.
- Your valid Emirates ID.
How to Apply?
Applying for the card is simple and can be done through the Nol Pay app, with home delivery. Here’s step by step process:
- Download the Nol Pay app and log in using your UAE Pass account.
- Tap the ‘+’ icon on the homepage and choose ‘Apply for a personalized Nol card.’
- Your personal details will be automatically fetched from your UAE Pass account. Just confirm them.
- Upload a recent photo.
- Select ‘Student’ as your customer segment and pick your travel class (gold or silver) and card design.
- Add your delivery address.
After submitting the application, you’ll get a reference number to track your order. The RTA says it will take about four working days to receive the card at your address.
Costs:
- Dh70 for a personalized silver Nol card (including Dh50 for the application and Dh20 in card credit).
- An additional Dh25 for ISIC registration.
Easy Payment and Student ID
The Nol Student Package can be used to pay at many stores across the UAE, making it more than just a travel card. It also works as a personalized international student ID, thanks to the partnership with the ISIC Association. Students can order this card easily through the Nol Pay App, and it will be delivered right to their homes. This makes the card useful for both travel and student identification.
Parental Control Features Coming Soon
Later this year, the RTA will add new features that allow parents to manage their children’s Nol accounts. Parents will be able to top up the balance and set spending limits, making it easier to keep track of expenses. This makes the Nol Student Card helpful for both students and their families.

This launch comes after an agreement between the RTA and the ISIC Association, which was signed earlier this year during the Middle East and North Africa Transport Congress and Exhibition in February 2024. The Nol Student Package shows the RTA’s commitment to helping students by making transport and shopping more affordable.
